bullet Red lentil (split Egyptian) 1 cup
bullet Garlic and ginger paste 1 tsp
bullet Red chilies powder 1 tsp
bullet Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
bullet Onion 1 small size, sliced
bullet Salt to taste
bullet Dalda or your choice of Banaspati Ghee 4 tbsp

Fried Garnish

bullet Cumin seeds ¼ tsp
bullet Garlic 4 pieces
bullet Red chili 2 whole
  • Wash lentils with warm water, put in a pan with 3 cups water, all the spices, garlic and ginger paste and onion. Cook till the lentils are tender then add green chili and let it simmer. Fry garlic, cumin seeds and red whole chili in banaspati and add to the lentils. Serve hot.
