Ingredients

  • Refined flour 1 cup sieved
  • Almonds 50 grams chopped
  • Pistachio 50 grams chopped
  • Coconut grated 1 cup
  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Castor sugar ½ cup
  • Coconut milk powder ½ cup
  • Currants 50 grams
  • Baking soda ¼ tsp
  • Salt 1 pinch
  • Oil 4 tbsp + for frying
  • Water as required

Cooking Directions

  1. Mix flour, salt, soda, 2 tbsp oil and water and knead into dough.

  2. Cover and set aside for ½ an hour.

  3. Cook 2 tbsp oil, desiccated coconut, sugar, coconut milk powder, currants, almonds, pistachios and castor sugar in a pot for few minutes and remove from flame.

  4. Make small balls of dough, roll them out.

  5. Place 1 tbsp of prepared mixture in the middle of each, fold over from all sides into pouches.

  6. Heat oil in a pot, fry sweet puriyan till golden, remove on absorbent paper.
