Green cabbage not only looks gorgeous, it also tastes amazingly sweet and nutty when cooked with mustard seeds. Use 2 small pointed spring cabbages instead of 1 large green cabbage, if you prefer. Recipe from cooking expert Sharmeen.

Ingredients

  • Cabbage 400 gm
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Mustard Seeds 1/4 tsp
  • Green Chili Chopped 1
  • Curry Leaves 10
  • Sugar 1/3 tsp
  • Ginger Chopped 1/4
  • Coconut to garnish

Cooking Directions

  1. Soak the chopped cabbage in water with some salt for 10-15 minutes and drain.

  2. Heat oil in a pan.

  3. When it crackles, add the green chili and ginger and saute for 1 minute.

  4. Add the cabbage, salt to taste and sugar.

  5. Saute it mixing all the ingredients well.

  6. Cook over a low heat uncovered until it reaches your preferred consistency.

  7. Garnish with coconut.

  8. Cabbage with mustard seeds is ready to serve.
