Ingredients

  • Whole green gram 3/4 cup
  • Salt as taste
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tbsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp
  • Coconut powder 2 tsp
  • Oil 100 gm
  • Onion 2 (large chopped)
  • Tomatoes 250 gm (chopped)
  • Green chilies 4 (finely chopped)
  • Green coriander leaves 1/4 bunch for garnishing (chopped)

Cooking Directions

  1. Clean and wash the whole green gram.

  2. Heat oil in a medium size cooking pot, fry chopped onion, till it turns translucent.

  3. Add ginger garlic paste, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder turmeric powder.

  4. Add chopped tomatoes, green chilies, coconut powder and salt to taste.

  5. Now add the green gram in to the masala.

  6. Add water, leave it for cooking on medium flame, till the gram is cooked.

  7. Garnish with chopped green coriander leaves.
