Chicken pieces are first cooked in spices till tender, then coated with a gram flour and curd mixture and then deep fried. Serve with mint chutney.

  • Chicken (cut into 2" pieces) 1 kg
  • Milk 250 ml
  • Water 300 ml
  • Gram flour 6 tbsp
  • Curd 6 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Crush finely:
  • Pepper corns 6
  • Red chillies 2
  • Cinnamon 1" piece
  • Cumin seeds 3/4 tsp
  • Ginger 1" piece
  • Cloves of garlic 2
  • Coriander seeds 1 tbsp
  • Nutmeg a pinch

Cooking Directions

  1. Heat milk and water and then add the chicken pieces, crushed spices and salt to taste.

  2. Cover and cook till the spices and water is absorbed, the chicken pieces are coated with the spices and are tender.

  3. Keep aside and make a batter of gram flour and curd with salt.

  4. Coat cooked chicken with this batter and deep fry till uniformly brown.

  5. Garnish with finely sliced onions and fried cashewnuts.
