Zarda is old fashioned wedding sweet rice dish with solid milk and nuts, currants etc. Eaten and liked by everyone today also. This wonderful quick zadra is prepared in microwave, It wont take much time to prepare. If desired, you can add nuts, one bite gulab jamun and rasgulla etc.

Ingredients

  • Sela rice 1 cup
  • Water 1 ½ cup
  • Sugar 8 tbsp
  • Clarified butter 4 tbsp
  • Cloves 4 – 5
  • Yellow food color 1 pinch
  • Kewra essence few drops
  • Saffron 1 pinch
  • Solid milk 125 gm
  • Small currant 100 gm

Cooking Directions

  1. Wash rice properly and soak it for 1 hour.

  2. Now in a microwave proof mixing bowl add water, sugar, clarified butter, cloves and yellow food color mix it well.

  3. Then put the bowl in microwave for 20 minutes on 100% M.

  4. 2 minutes before take out the bowl add kewra essence, saffron and solid milk by hand.

  5. And put the bowl again in microwave.

  6. Then take out zarda in a dish and garnished small currant and serve it.
