Tempura is deep fried vegetable, which is commonly eaten in Japan, it's not so hard to make delicious tempura at home just follow the steps.All ingredients can be found easily at your local grocery stores. Actually, you can make tempura with almost anything.

Ingredients

  • Potatoes 250 gm (sliced)
  • Carrots 250 gm (sliced)
  • Capsicum 250 gm (sliced)
  • Onions 250 gm (sliced)
  • For batter:
  • All purpose flour 1cup
  • Gram flour 1 cup
  • Corn flour ½ cup
  • Red chilli powder 2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • All spice powder 1 tsp
  • Garlic paste 1tbsp
  • Oyster sauce 2tbsp
  • Baking soda ½ tsp
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt as required

Cooking Directions

  1. Cut into the slices all the vegetables.

  2. In a mixing bowl add the all purpose flour, gram flour, corn flour, red chilli powder, turmeric powde, all spice powder, garlic paste, oyster sauce, baking soda and salt.

  3. Mix all the ingredients well to form a thick batter.

  4. Heat oil in a pan, then dip the sliced vegetables into the batter and deep fry.

  5. They are best served immediately on a warm plate with the sauce alongside for dipping, enjoy !
