Ingredients

  • Chicken 1 cup (boiled & shredded)
  • Elbow macaroni 2 cups
  • Oil 1 tbsp
  • Onion 1 small (chopped)
  • Garlic 2 cloves
  • Celery 2 sticks
  • Hot sauce 1/2 cup
  • Butter 2 tbsp
  • All purpose flour 2 tbsp
  • Milk 2 cups
  • Cheddar cheese 1 cup
  • Sour cream 1/2 cup
  • Salt & black pepper for seasoning
  • For Crumbs
  • Ritz cracker 12
  • Bread 2 slice
  • Melted butter 2 tbsp

Cooking Directions

  1. Boil macaroni in salted water until cook. Drain and keep aside.

  2. Heat oil fry onion until translucent then add in garlic and celery to sauté.

  3. Add shredded chicken along salt and black pepper. Add ¼ cup hot sauce; mix gently until everything is coated with sauce.

  4. Simmer until sauce thickens. Shift chicken into a bowl.

  5. In another pan melt butter, add in all purpose flour and mix properly so there are no lumps.

  6. Now slowly add one cup of milk while stirring continuously to prevent lumps. Season it with salt and pepper.

  7. Add in cheddar cheese, sour cream and 1/8 cup hot sauce. Mix gently and remove from fire.

  8. For Crumbs: Put cracker and bread crumbs in a food processor and crumb it. Drizzle melted butter and process for one minute to mix it with bread crumbs.

  9. Spread crumbs in a cookies sheet and pop into pre-heated oven for 3-5 minutes or until lightly toasted. Transfer crumbs to a dish to cool.

  10. Start assembling by layering half chicken followed by half macaroni, half cheese sauce. Then repeat layering.

  11. Top with toasted crumbs, sprinkle parsley and drizzle remaining hot sauce. Bake in oven at 180 degree C for 15-18 minutes or until bubbly. Serve hot.
