Combine the flour and salt in a bowl. Add water and knead well.
Cover the dough and let it stand for 30 minutes then make 6 balls.
Roll out each ball into a 12 cm (4.5'') round chapatti.
Heat up a heavy base frying pan until a drop of water in it sizzles.
Pick up one chapatti, lay it on the frying pan.
Cook for about 40 seconds till the surface of the chapatti puffs like small bubbles.
Turn it and cook for about 30 seconds. A chapatti puff fully.
Stack the cooked chapattis together, wrapped in a clean tea towel.
Serve hot with bhaji, curry or achar.
