Sift the flour, add salt, sugar, and carom seeds. Knead into a hard dough with water. Cover with a moist cloth and keep aside for 15 minutes.

  • Wholewheat flour (atta) 2 1/2 cups
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar 2 1/2 tsp
  • Carom (ajwain) seeds 1 tbsp
  • Water 1 1/2 cup

Cooking Directions

  1. Sift the flour, add salt, sugar, and carom seeds.

  2. Knead into a hard dough with water.

  3. Cover with a moist cloth and keep aside for 15 minutes.

  4. Divide the dough into 10 balls.

  5. Dust and roll each into 10 cm roti.

  6. Prick with a fork evenly.

  7. Bake the roti in an oven at 180°C (350°F) for 8 - 10 minutes or till light brown in colour.
