Lahore's most famous dish murgh cholay is utterly tasty dish. Its prepared in chicken, chick peas and red lentil with spices. It goes with naan or boiled rice.

  • Chick peas ½ kg
  • Chicken meat 1x12 pieces 1 kg
  • Red lentils 100 gm
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chili 1 tbsp (crushed)
  • Coriander powder 1 tbsp
  • Black pepper 4 tsp (crushed)
  • All spice powder ½ tsp
  • Garlic, ginger paste 1 tbsp
  • Oil 250 ml

Cooking Directions

  1. Soak chick pea & red lentils over night.

  2. Rinse the water, take a medium size cooking pot, boil the chick pea & red lentils, till it is cook to soft & tender.

  3. Take a medium size cooking pot, put on the fire, put oil.

  4. Add ginger garlic paste, stir it for couple of minutes add chicken saute.

  5. Add boiled chick pea and red lentil, red chili, coriander powder, crushed black pepper, all spice powder, salt, stir it for some minutes.

  6. Cook it till the chicken meat & the masala is combined.

  7. Remove it from the fire.

  8. Serve it hot with hot Nan bread & rice.
