A favourite Pakistani curry is Karahi, which is either cooked with mutton, chicken, beef or any sea food. Experience it with a fruit which is mango. Here we have a succulent raw mango karhai with chicken, it sounds different but tastes amazing.

  • Chicken 1 kg
  • Yogurt whipped 2 cups
  • Raw mango 2
  • Ginger garlic chopped 2 tbsp
  • Green chili 5 to 6
  • Red chilly crushed 1 tsp
  • Black pepper powder ½ tsp
  • Aniseed crushed ½ tsp
  • Cumin crushed ½ tsp
  • Oregano seeds crushed 1 pinch
  • Dry fenugreek leaves ½ tsp
  • Oil ½ cup
  • Salt to taste

Cooking Directions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet, add the chicken pieces and fry for 4 to 5 minutes.

  2. Now add chopped garlic and green chilies, sauté for one minute.

  3. Pour the whipped yogurt into the chicken.

  4. Then add crushed aniseed, crushed cumin, crushed red chili, black pepper powder crushed, oregano and salt and fry till the oil forms a separate layer on top.

  5. Then add raw mango, remaining green chilies and dry fenugreek leaves.

  6. Cook for 10 minutes minutes.

  7. When water dries turn the flame of and serve.
