It is one of the best smoked dishes to be served at any course of meal. It can serve an ideal breakfast or dinner and lunch. It is one of the most authentic recipes of Pakistani cuisine.

Ingredients

  • Beef or mutton 1 kg
  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Green chilies 4 sliced
  • Lemons 4
  • Oil ½ cup
  • Raw papaya paste 1 tbsp
  • Poppy seeds 1 tbsp crushed
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Clarified butter 1 tbsp
  • Crushed black pepper ½ tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Side Serving:
  • Lemon 2 - 3
  • Onion 2 rings
  • Mint ½ bunch

Cooking Directions

  1. Wash small pieces of beef and hammer briefly.

  2. Mix with yogurt, sliced green chilies, juice of lemons, raw papaya paste, poppy seeds, red chili powder, crushed black pepper, ginger garlic paste and salt and keep aside for 2 to 2 ½ hours.

  3. In a cooking pot, add marinated beef and oil and cook on low flame.

  4. When water is dried up and meat becomes tender place a foil and put heated pieces of coal .

  5. Allow simmering on low flame for 10 to 15 minutes.

  6. Delicious Dum kay Kebab is ready.

  7. Served with lemon , onions , mint and parathas.
