  • Potatoes 400 gm
  • Cauliflower head 1 (medium-sized)
  • Onion 2 tbsp (sliced)
  • Onion 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
  • Ginger 1/2 tsp (ground)
  • Garlic 1/2 tsp (ground)
  • Turmeric 1/2 tsp (ground)
  • Chili powder 1/2 tsp
  • Bay leaf 1
  • Cinnamon 1/4 tsp (crushed)
  • Cardamom 1/4 tsp
  • Green chilies 3
  • Cooking oil 1/2 cup
  • Salt to taste

Cooking Directions

  1. Peel the potatoes. Make medium-sized cubes of the potatoes and cauliflower.

  2. Fry the potatoes and cauliflower separately in 2 tbsp of oil.

  3. Combine the ground spices and make a paste with a little water.

  4. Heat oil in a saucepan, saute the onions, add the spices, bay leaf and half cup of water.

  5. Stir and fry until oil surface.

  6. Add the vegetables and 2 cups of water.

  7. Cover and cook over a low heat till the potato is tender.

  8. If necessary, add a little water to cook vegetables.

  9. Add the cinnamon, green chillies and salt.

  10. Cover, keep over a low heat until the vegetables are soft and the gravy is thick and the oil separates.

  11. Serve hot with luchi or parata or fluffy boiled rice.
