Crispy piyazo or lentil fritters recipe is so easy and tasty. It can be prepare for ramadan iftar or with evening tea. Enjoy with anardana chutny.

  • Split green gms 2 cups
  • Fresh coriander ½ cup (chopped)
  • Green chilies 3
  • Onion 3 (cut into rings)
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp (roasted)
  • Sweet soda 1 pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil as required

Cooking Directions

  1. Mix soda in lentils and soak in water overnight.

  2. Blend lentils, green chilies, coriander, red chilies, cumin seed and salt in a blender.

  3. Take out mixture in a bowl, add onion and mix.

  4. Heat oil in wok, fry lentil mixture in spoonfuls till golden.

  5. Remove delicious piyazo on absorbent paper and serve with tomato ketchup or tamarind chutney.
