Ingredients

  • For Pita Bread Dough:
  • All purpose flour 1/2 cup
  • Yeast 1/2 tsp
  • Milk 2 tbsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Oil 3 tbsp
  • Warm water as required
  • For Kebabs:
  • Chicken breast 1/2 kg
  • Vinegar or lemon juice 2 tbsp
  • Black pepper powder 1 tbsp
  • Ginger 1 tsp
  • Green chili 1-2 (chopped)
  • Onion 1 (medium, grated)
  • Bread crumbs 1/2 cup
  • Garlic paste 2 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1 1/2 tsp
  • Salt 1 tsp or to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • For Serving:
  • Mayonnaise
  • Ketchup
  • Onion rings
  • Lettuce (chopped)
  • Tomato (sliced)
  • Cabbage (optional)

Cooking Directions

  1. For Pita Bread: Sift flour in a large bowl, add flour, yeast, salt, oil, milk rub thoroughly to mix them well.

  2. Now knead smooth dough by adding warm water.

  3. Apply little oil on dough cover and leave for 1 hour.

  4. After one hour roll in dough then make 4 balls and flatten and roll out into thick pita bread rounds.

  5. Sprinkle dry flour on surface and put all rolled out breads covering by towel for 10-15 minutes.

  6. Heat griddle and cook pitas on it from both sides.

  7. For Kebabs: Cut chicken breast into small pieces.

  8. In a chopper put chicken, ginger garlic paste, salt, cumin, green chili, black pepper, salt, and onion make mince of all ingredients to mix well.

  9. Now add bread crumbs by hand and make kebabs of this mixture.

  10. Shallow fry kebabs from both sides till golden brown.

  11. Assemble: Mix mayonnaise and ketchup and spread on pita bread.

  12. Place 2 kebabs, lettuce, tomato, onion, and cabbage.

  13. If you want more spicy then sprinkle little black pepper fold in half.

  14. McArabia is ready to serve with garlic dip and coleslaw salad.
