Ingredients

  • Yellow lentils 1 cup
  • White lentils 1 cup
  • Cumin powder 1 tbsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Green chilies 4 – 5
  • Garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Eggs 2 – 3
  • Coriander ½ bunch
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt to taste

Cooking Directions

  1. Wash all the lentils and soak them for an hour.

  2. In a blender add the white lentils, yellow lentils, cumin powder, red chili powder, green chilies, garlic paste, eggs, coriander and salt.

  3. Blend till a smooth paste it formed.

  4. Heat oil in a skillet.

  5. Drop small amounts of batter to form pancakes.

  6. Add 1 tbsp of oil on the sides, fry and flip over.

  7. The cheelay are ready to be served with your favorite chutney.
