Ingredients

  • Khoya 1 cup
  • All-purpose flour 1/2 cup
  • Baking Soda 1/4 tsp
  • Milk 1-2 tbsp
  • Oil for frying
  • Sugar 2 cup
  • Water 1,1/2 cup
  • Cardamom 4-6

Cooking Directions

  1. For Sugar Syrup:In a pan add water, sugar and cardamom and cook on low flame for 10 to 15 minutes.

  2. For Gulab Jaman:In a bowl mix flour, khoya, baking soda, cardamom, and milk to knead and make small balls.

  3. Now in a pan heat oil and fry balls till it turns light brown.

  4. When its ready put it in sugar syrup for 10 to 15 minutes.

  1. Both baking soda and baking powder are leavening agents. Baking powder is a mixture of baking soda, an acid, and cornstarch. Baking soda is about four times as powerful as baking powder so using one fourth teaspoon baking soda for every teaspoon baking powder is a good estimate.
