Ingredients

  • Rice 3 cups (soaked)
  • Gram lentils 1 cup (boiled)
  • Clarified butter ½ cup
  • Onion 1 (sliced)
  • Garlic cloves 3 (chopped)
  • Ginger 1 piece (chopped)
  • All spice as required (whole)
  • Fennel seeds 1 tsp (crushed)
  • Tomatoe 1 (chopped)
  • Green chili 3 – 4 (chopped)
  • Water 1 ½ glass
  • Salt to taste
  • Peas ½ cup (boiled)
  • Black lentils 1 (boiled)

Cooking Directions

  1. Heat clarified butter in a pan, add onion and fry till soft.

  2. Now add garlic and ginger.

  3. Then add all spice, fennel seeds, tomatoe and green chilies.

  4. Stir fry for 2 - 4 minutes.

  5. Add 1 ½ glass of water with salt. Cook till it comes to a boil.

  6. Add rice, peas, gram lentil and black lentil.

  7. When the rice tenders, cover and steam on low flame for 8 – 10 minutes.

  8. Dish it out and serve hot.
