  • Brown Lentil 1 cup
  • Bottle Gourd 1 kg
  • Ginger garlic Paste 1 tbsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Green chilies 4
  • Curry leaves few leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Tamarind Pulp 1 cup
  • Cinnamon powder (roasted) 1 tsp
  • Oil 1 cup

Cooking Directions

  1. Wash brown lentil with lukewarm water. Add water in cooking pan and boil lentil until soft. Blend the lentil in blander.

  2. Take a pan and warm oil then add ginger garlic paste, red chili powder, and turmeric. Cook about 2-3 minutes.

  3. Stir in bottle gourd then add blended lentil, green chilies, curry leaves and salt. Add ½ cup water and cook until bottle gourd is soft.

  4. When bottle gourd is tender, add tamarind pulp, sprinkle cinnamon powder and simmer for 5 minutes. Delicious Loki ka Khatta Daalcha is ready.
