Ingredients

  • Rice ½ kg
  • Chicken ½ kg
  • Yogurt 250 gm
  • Green coriander 1 bunch
  • Mint 1 bunch
  • Clarified butter 1 cup
  • Onion 2
  • Clove 3 – 4
  • Small cardamom 3 – 4
  • Star anise 2 – 3
  • Green chili 6 – 8
  • Cinnamon 2 – 3
  • All spice powder 1 tsp
  • White cumin 1 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 3 tbsp
  • Red chili 1 ½ tbsp (crushed)
  • Salt to taste

Cooking Directions

  1. For green paste, blend green chilies, green coriander and mint to make paste.

  2. In a pan, heat clarified butter and add clove, small cardamoms, star anise and cinnamon to crackle.

  3. Then add chicken and ginger garlic paste to sauté.

  4. Now add green paste, yogurt, all spice powder and red chili powder and cook till meat tender and gravy become thick.

  5. For rice boil water in pan.

  6. Now add salt to taste and cumin.

  7. When smell starts to come add rice and half boil it. Now strain it.

  8. In a deep pan first place layer of gravy, then layer of rice and again put layer of remaining gravy and put rice on top and put it on simmer and cover the lid.
