Ingredients

  • Chicken ½ kg (boneless and finely ground)
  • Onions 2 (ground into a fine paste)
  • Salt to taste
  • Grind Together:
  • Coconut powder 1 tbsp
  • Chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder ½ tsp
  • Cinnamon 1 stick
  • Green cardamom 4
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Cloves 4
  • Green chili 4
  • Fresh coriander leaves hand full
  • Mint leaves few
  • For the Gravy:
  • Clarified butter as required
  • Onions 3 (ground)
  • Ripe tomatoes 2 (ground)
  • Yogurt 1 cup (beaten)
  • Salt to taste

Cooking Directions

  1. For Koftas:Mix together chicken, onion paste of 2, salt and half of the ground spice.

  2. Make round meatballs and set aside.

  3. For Gravy:Heat clarified butter in a pan. Add onion and saute for a few minutes.

  4. Add rest of the ground mixture and saute for a while.

  5. Add in ground tomatoes and cook till oil starts to float.

  6. Add 3 cups water and yogurt, bring to a boil. Gently add meatballs, cover and cook on low heat till gravy thickens.
