Salted Zeera Biscuits (Cumin Seeds Cookies)

  • Butter 100 gram
  • Plain flour 100 gram (8 tbsp or 1 cup aprox.)
  • Caster sugar 1 tbsp
  • Egg 1
  • Salt 1/2 tbsp or according to your taste
  • Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Baking powder 1/2 tsp

Cooking Directions

  1. Beat butter in castor sugar.

  2. Beat the egg and put 1 tsp (or as needed) of it in the above mixture.

  3. Put 1/2 tbsp salt and cumin seeds in the above mixture.

  4. Use a strainer to filter the fine flour.

  5. Put baking powder and plain flour in the above mixture.

  6. Mix them all well to make dough.

  7. Keep the dough in fridge for a while.

  8. With a rolling pin flatten the dough till its thickness remains to 1/8th of an inch.

  9. Take a clean hair brush (kept for cooking purpose only).

  10. Press the hair brush gently to give fine dotted impression.

  11. Use cookie cutters to cut the cookie shapes.

  12. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C and bake cookies for 15-20 min.

  13. The cookies are ready to be served now.

  1. I made this last night, turned out to be very good, and now im reading the comments i forgot to add salt XD so its okay if u take it out.. and i would use less butter next time.

  4. Ya I tried this recipe and made my family happy... My husband is jaam khush because he does'nt like sweet cookies.... I used powder suger.Thanks a lot.... I purchased micro oven before 10 years back but the vendor not given service and showed demo.... your recipes are really made me to use micro oven... thanks once again.......

  5. i tried and they turned out to be more salty and non delicious.i would say put 1/2 tea spoon of salt rather 1/2 table spoon.
