Korma is a traditional exotic curry, usually served at the weddings. Enjoy this vegetable version of korma made of crispy fried turnips.

  • Small turnips 1, 1/2
  • Ghee 90 gm
  • Chopped onions 250 gm
  • Ground sesame seeds 2 tbsp
  • Poppy seeds 1 tbsp
  • Ginger powder 1/4 tsp
  • Pepper 1/4 tsp
  • Ground cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Ground coriander seeds 1/4 tbsp
  • Crushed cloves of garlic 6
  • Curd 150 gm
  • Broken bay leaves 2
  • Cream 4 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Cooking Directions

  1. Peel the turnips, then heat 30 gm ghee and fry the pricked turnips till crisp.

  2. Remove. Heat the rest of the ghee and add all the dry ingredients.

  3. Stir for a few minutes, add 1/4 liter water and cook again till curry dries up.

  4. Then add the curd, turnips and bay leaf.

  5. Cover and cook till soft.

  6. Add cream just before serving.
