Ingredients

  • Fenugreek seeds 250 gm
  • Bay leaves 3-4
  • Aniseeds 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder 3 tsp
  • Chilli powder 3
  • Whole red chillies 5-6
  • Sugar 5 tbsp
  • Raisins 20-25
  • Mango powder 1, 1/2 tsp
  • Dry mango pieces few
  • Asafoetida a pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil as needed

Cooking Directions

  1. Separately soak whole red chillies, mango pieces and raisins for 5 hours.

  2. Soak fenugreek seeds overnight.

  3. Heat oil, fry all spices, then add fenugreek seeds and 3 cups of water.

  4. Cook on medium heat till well blended and the gravy is thick.
