Ingredients

  • Tamarind 100 gms
  • Jaggery 1/2 cup
  • Salt 4 tsps
  • Mint leaves (ground) 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 3 tsps
  • Asafoetida one pinch
  • Dry ginger 1 tsp
  • Chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  • Black pepper 1 tsp
  • Mint leaves 10-15
  • Water 6 cups
  • Aniseeds (ground) 1 1/2 tsps

Cooking Directions

  1. Roast and grind the cumin seeds, ginger and asafoetida.

  2. Soak tamarind in a cup of water and strain.

  3. Boil the tamarind water with the jaggery. Cool.

  4. Then add all other ingredients. along with 5 cups of water.

  5. Mix well and strain. Chill and serve decorated with mint leaves.
