Ingredients

  • Fish fillet ½ kg
  • Salt ½ tsp
  • Pepper ½ tsp
  • Mustard ½ tsp
  • Vinegar 2 tbsp
  • Self raising flour 1 ¼ cup
  • Egg 1
  • Soda water 1 cup or as required
  • Oil for deep frying
  • For Tartar Sauce:
  • Mayonnaise ½ cup
  • Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  • Salt 1 pinch
  • Coriander leaves 1 tsp (finely chopped)
  • Gherkins 1 tsp (finely chopped)
  • Dill 1 tsp (finely chopped)

Cooking Directions

  1. Marinate fish with salt, pepper, mustard and vinegar.

  2. Make batter with self raising flour, egg and soda water in medium bowl until smooth, cover and refrigerate batter for 1 hour.

  3. Heat oil dip fish in batter and deep fry in hot oil until golden and crisp.

  4. Prepare tartar sauce by mixing all ingredients together in a bowl.

  5. Serve with chips and tarter sauce.
