Chicken cubes are coated with corn flour and flour mixture then fried and added with sauce and sping onion, bell pepper and cilantro. It goes with noodles or plain rice.

  • Boneless chicken 200 gm
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Ginger, garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Soya sauce 2 tbsp
  • Sesame oil ¼ tsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp
  • Red chili ½ tsp (crushed)
  • Brown sugar ½ tsp
  • White vinegar 1 tsp
  • Tomato puree ½ cup
  • Tomato ketchup 2 tbsp
  • Corn flour 2 tbsp
  • Plain flour ½ cup
  • Bell pepper ½
  • Spring onion ¼ cup (sliced)
  • Cilantro ¼ cup (sliced)
  • Oil 1 tbsp
  • Oil for frying ½ liter

Cooking Directions

  1. Marinate chicken cubes with ginger, garlic paste, soya sauce, salt n pepper to taste.

  2. In a wok, add oil and heat on high flame.

  3. Add ginger garlic paste and stir.

  4. Then add tomato puree, tomato ketchup, red chili powder, red chili flakes, white vinegar and salt n pepper to taste.

  5. Stir continuously for a couple of minutes.

  6. Now add sliced bell pepper, spring onion and cilantro.

  7. Mix briefly and keep aside.

  8. Put another wok on medium flame and add oil for frying.

  9. Mix plain flour and corn flour and coat marinated chicken in the flour mixture.

  10. When oil is hot enough for frying, fry coated chicken cubes until golden brown.

  11. Add fried chicken to the sauce and sprinkle chopped spring onion and cilantro on top.

  12. Serve Schewan Chicken with Bell Pepper with stir fried noodles or boiled rice.
