Minced Lamb with Coriander - Fresh green coriander adds a very nice aromatic flavor to lamb mince. Lamb mince is cooked with aromatic all spice and finished with fresh green coriander and ground all spice. You can also add peas, capsicum or potatoes to the recipe if you like. Ingredients

  • Mince meat 350 gm
  • Garlic 2 cloves
  • Cinnamon stick 1
  • Bay leaf 1
  • Chopped Onions 150 gm
  • Green Cardamoms 2
  • Ginger Paste 1 tsp
  • Green Chilli chopped 1
  • Turmeric Powder 1/4 tsp
  • Cumin Powder 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander Powder 1/2 tsp
  • All spice powder 1/2 tsp
  • Tomatoes finely chopped 2
  • Clove 3-4
  • Salt to to taste
  • Coriander Leaves chopped 1/2 cup

Cooking Directions

  1. Boil the mince in 2 cups water with 1 whole peeled garlic clove and the bay leaf for 10 minutes.

  2. Strain away the water using a mince strainer.

  3. Finely chop the remaining garlic clove.

  4. Heat the oil in a cooking pot fry the onions until golden brown about 15 minutes.

  5. Add the cinnamon, cloves, cardamoms, ginger and chillies.

  6. Cook for 2 minutes then add the mince and sauté for 5 minutes.

  7. Add the turmeric, cumin and half the all spice powder and sauté for a further 5 minutes stirring time to time.

  8. Add the tomatoes and salt to taste.

  9. Stir fry after adding tomato for a few minutes and then add 1 cup of water and allow the meat to tenderize.

  10. When done add the coriander leaves and the rest of the all spice.

  11. Stir well and cook for 3 minutes or so uncovered.

  12. Serve with roti.
