  • Eggplant (round and small) 1 kg
  • Peanuts 2.5 tbsp
  • Red pepper (crushed) 2.5 tbsp
  • Coconut (crushed) 2 tbsp
  • Cumin 1 tbsp
  • Sesame seeds 1 tbsp
  • Poppy seeds (khushkhush) 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Fenugreek seeds (meethi dana) 1/2 tsp
  • Onion 6
  • Green chili 8
  • Tamarind 20 grains
  • Curry leaf (kari patta) 15
  • Red pepper (whole) 10
  • Salt as to taste
  • Tamarind water

Cooking Directions

  1. Chop the onions and grind them.

  2. Fry the onions.

  3. Now add peanuts, coconut and cumin in a pan.

  4. Also add sesame seeds, poppy seeds and fenugreek seeds.

  5. Roast fry all the ingredients and then grind them.

  6. Now add 2 tbsp of these grinded ingredients in onions.

  7. Also add red pepper, turmeric, salt.

  8. Also add curry leaf and fry them all well.

  9. Take tamarind water in a bowl.

  10. Now add the left crushed ingredients in it.

  11. Slit the eggplants and fill in the tamarind water mix.

  12. Place eggplants in the pan with fried onions.

  13. Also sprinkle coconut on the eggplants.

  14. Take green chillies and slit open them from the middle.

  15. Now fill the green chillies with the tamarind water mixture.

  16. Add green chilies in the eggplant pan.

  17. Also add the left over tamarind water mix in it.

  18. Add 1/4 cup water and cover the lid.

  19. Let the eggplants cook well and then serve.
