Preheat oven to 190 degrees.
Grease or line muffin tins.
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Beat butter for 1 minute until creamy.
Add sugar and beat for 2 minutes until light and fluffy.
Add vanilla and eggs a little at a time and continue mixing for a minute.
Add half the milk, blend and add the dry ingredients all at once.
Pour the rest of the milk and blend well for 1 minute.
Pour a teaspoon each of the batter into the muffin tins.
Add 1/2 teaspoon of jam on each muffin and cover with another teaspoon of remaining batter.
Bake for 8-10 minutes and serve warm..
