Mutton Daalcha is mouth watering tangy meaty recipe of Expert Zubaida Tariq. Lentil with mutton is not only very nutritoius even its very much tasty too. Specially after Eid-ul-Adha when you get tired from monotonous heavy meaty menu then try this dalcha you will love it with plain rice. You can prepare it in beef or lamb also.

Ingredients

  • Mutton ½ kg
  • Oil 1 cup
  • Onion 2
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Red lentils 1 cup
  • Tamarind juice 1 cup
  • Green chili 4
  • Curry leaves few
  • Tomato 2
  • Cinnamon 1 tsp (roasted and ground)

Cooking Directions

  1. In a skillet, heat oil and add in water, mutton, onions, ginger garlic paste, turmeric, red chili powder and salt and let it cook.

  2. Separately, wash the lentils and boil them.

  3. Once they’re tender, blend them finely.

  4. As the water from the meat dries out, give it a stir and add in the ground lentils along with tamarind juice, green chilies, curry leaves and tomatoes.

  5. The daal is ready when the green chilies soften.

  6. Now add in cinnamon and put it on simmer for 5 minutes.

  7. Serve with plain rice.
