Cottage cheese is also known as paneer. If you have extra milk lying around and can't think what to do with it, or you were unable to get cottage cheese from your local supermarket then why not use this simple method to make it home! It's very easy.

Ingredients

  • Milk 1 liter
  • Yogurt 1/2 kg
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Sugar 1/4 tsp

Cooking Directions

  1. Heat milk till it boils.

  2. Remove from heat.

  3. Whip yogurt with salt and sugar and add to the milk.

  4. The milk will curdle.

  5. Strain the milk and yogurt mixture in a cottage cheese container or hang in a muslin cloth for half an hour to drain the liquid.

  6. Remove and pat into a ball.
