  • Lamb steak ½ kg
  • Mint leaves for garnish
  • For Marination:
  • Lemon juice ½ tsp
  • Garlic clove 1 (crushed)
  • Spring onion 1 (chopped)
  • Olive oil 2 tbsp
  • Black pepper 1 tsp (crushed)
  • Salt to taste
  • For Onion Salsa:
  • Onion 1 (chopped)
  • Tomato 1 (sliced, without seeds)
  • Sweet corn 1/2 cup (optional)
  • Garlic clove 2 (chopped)
  • Mint leaves 10 – 15
  • Red wine vinegar 1 tbsp
  • Basil leaves 3 – 4
  • Black pepper ½ tsp (crushed)
  • Olive oil 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • For Spiced Cherry Sauce:
  • Cherry sauce 150 gm
  • Orange zest 1 tsp (chopped)
  • Orange juice ¼ cup
  • Ginger 1 tsp (chopped)
  • Cardamom ½ tsp (crushed)
  • Black pepper ½ tsp (crushed)
  • Salt to taste

Cooking Directions

  1. Marinate the steaks in lemon juice, crushed garlic, spring onions chopped, olive oil, and black pepper crushed and salt.

  2. Now wrap the steak with a plastic sheet and refrigerate for the whole night.

  3. Grease a grill pan and place the steak on it and grill it from both sides till the meat is done.

  4. For Onion Salsa: Put onion, sweet corn and tomato in a bowl.

  5. Add in garlic, mint leaves, red wine vinegar, basil leaves, black pepper, olive oil and salt, mix well.

  6. For Spiced Cherry Sauce: Put cherry sauce in a sauce pan along with orange zest, orange juice, black pepper crushed, cardamom, ginger and salt, place it on medium-high flame.

  7. When the mixture starts to boil dish it out and let it cool.

  8. Serve lamb steak with salsa and cherry sauce.
