Ingredients

  • Dried pepper 15 to 20
  • Chicken bone less 400 grams
  • Cumin 1 tbsp
  • Clove 6 to 7
  • Cinnamon 2 sticks
  • Black pepper crushed ½ tsp
  • Star spice 3 to 4
  • Poppy seed 1 tsp
  • Ginger 1 piece
  • Garlic 5 to 6 cloves
  • Tamarind paste 2 to 3 tbsp
  • Vinegar 3 to 4 tbsp
  • Curry leaves 3 to 4
  • Onion 2 to 3
  • Oil ½ cup
  • Salt as required

Cooking Directions

  1. Dip dry chillies in little hot water.

  2. Take a blender adds dry chillies, ginger, garlic, tamarind paste and vinegar and make paste.

  3. Now marinate chicken with paste and leave it for ½ an hour.

  4. Take oil in pan and add cinnamon, cloves and cumin to cook.

  5. Now add onion to cook.

  6. Put marinated chicken in pan and cook it well.

  7. Then add poppy seed, star spice, black pepper and salt to mix it and cook it well.

  8. When meat comes near to tender, add curry leaves and cook 2 to 3 minutes.

  9. Chicken vandalo is ready.
