Ingredients

  • Turnips 400 gm
  • Small onion (chopped) 1
  • Ghee 30 gm
  • Ground aniseed 2 tsp
  • Ground fenugreek seeds 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Ground black pepper 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves as required

Cooking Directions

  1. Peel, quarter and cook the turnips in salted water until thoroughly tender, then mash well.

  2. Fry onion in ghee for 1 minute, then add the other ingredients.

  3. Stir and fry for a few seconds.

  4. Add the turnips. Stir over medium heat.

  5. Add chopped coriander and serve.
