Bolognese sauce is a meat based sauce originating from Bologna, Italy. It is customarily used to dress pasta, spaghetti and lasagna. Here we have served with spaghetti, enjoy at your Sunday meal.

  • Spaghetti ½ packet
  • Beef mince 1 cup
  • Butter 2 tbsp
  • Oil 3 tbsp
  • Onion 1 medium (chopped)
  • Carrot 1
  • Celery stick 1
  • Garlic cloves 3 (chopped)
  • Salt t taste
  • Black pepper ½ tsp
  • Milk 1 cup
  • Tomatoes 4 (blanched and chopped)
  • Bay leaf 1
  • Thyme ½ tsp
  • Parsley 2 tbsp (chopped)

Cooking Directions

  1. Boil spaghetti and set aside.

  2. Heat butter and oil, add chopped onion and saute.

  3. Then add minced beef and chopped garlic, stir fry for 3 - 4 minutes.

  4. Add sliced carrot, celery mix well and sauté.

  5. Now add milk, chopped tomatoes, chopped parsley, thyme and bay leaf. Cover the pan and simmer.

  6. Remove the lid after 10 to 12 minutes, discard the bay leaf, turn the flame high and dry excess water.

  7. Set spaghetti in a platter and top it with meat sauce and serve.
