Ingredients

  • Moong dal 200 gms
  • Chana dal 50 gms
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • Ghee 1 tsp
  • Coriander and seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Grated ginger 1 tsp
  • Lemon juice 1/2 tsp
  • Grama masala 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander Leaves 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste

Cooking Directions

  1. Wash both dals together.

  2. Add turmeric and salt and cook with enough water to cover.

  3. Keep aside. Heat ghee in a pan.

  4. Add coriander, cumin and mustard seeds.

  5. Saute till they splutter.

  6. Add red chilli powder and ginger.

  7. Saute for about 1-2 minutes.

  8. Pour the above mixture over dal.

  9. Add a little water and bring to a boil.

  10. Add lemon juice and garam masala.

  11. Garnish with coriander. Serve hot.
