When you don’t feel like having the regular curry or salan you can made this recipe for your meal. These are not plain rice because it contains mince plus peas which made these rice utterly flavorsome that you can have it without any salan.

  • Rice 300 gm (soaked)
  • Mince 300 gm
  • Peas 200 gm (boiled)
  • Potatoes 2 (boiled, chopped)
  • Black lentil 100 gm (whole, boiled)
  • Clarified butter ½ cup
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
  • Onion 1
  • Green chilies 4
  • Button red chilies 6 – 8
  • Salt to taste
  • Star anise 4
  • Water as required

Cooking Directions

  1. Heat clarified butter in a pan, add in ginger garlic paste and fry well.

  2. Then add mince, onion, green chilies, button red chilies, salt and star anise.

  3. Fry well for 2 – 3 minutes.

  4. Now add potatoes, peas and black lentils, mix well and cook for 2 – 3 minutes.

  5. Add 1 ½ glass of water, cook till it comes to a boil.

  6. Add in soaked rice.

  7. Cook till rice comes on top.

  8. Then simmer on low flame for 8 – 10 minutes.

  9. Dish it out, serve hot.
