Ingredients

  • Petha 1 kg
  • Sugar ½ kg
  • Few drops of kewra essence
  • Baking soda 1 tbsp
  • Silver sheets as required

Cooking Directions

  1. Peel off the skin of petha and beat with a fork to make holes.

  2. In a cooking pot, add baking soda and water to requirement and mix.

  3. Soak petha pieces in it for 3 to 4 hours.

  4. Then wash the pieces and leave in boiling water for 5 minutes.

  5. Drain away excess water.

  6. In a pan, add water and sugar and form a thick sticky texture.

  7. Add a few drops of kewra essence and mix.

  8. Now add petha pieces and put on the lid and cook for 5 minutes.

  9. Put off the flame and let it cool on room temperature.

  10. Garnish with silver sheets and serve.
