Malpua is a delicious sweet dish of Northern India.The traditional dish has got an enormously delicious reputation. Bananas are rich source of Iron , which is important for maintaining good health.

  • Pastry flour/unbleached flour (maida) 1 cup
  • Bananas 2
  • Milk 2 1/2 cup
  • Fennel (Saunf) 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Oil for deep frying

Cooking Directions

  1. To make batter: Take flour in a bowl and add 5 teaspoon of oil or ghee.

  2. Mash and mix 2 bananas and add saunf, followed by milk.

  3. Amount of milk added should be such that the batter is of dropping consistency 

  4. To make sugar syrup: Add 1 cup of sugar to 1/2 cup of water.

  5. Heat the mixture of sugar and water. 

  6. To make malpua: Heat oil in frying pan, on high flame.

  7. Take a ladle full of batter and drop the batter from ladle in the frying pan.

  8. Deep fry till golden colour, in medium flame. 

  9. Take out the golden colour malpua and dip it in the sugar syrup for few seconds ( 40-50 sec).

  10. Take it out and serve.

  11. Mulpua tastes best when cold.
