Ingredients

  • Dry red or white beans (as available) 8 oz
  • Green gram(Moong daal) 8 oz
  • Gram lentils (chana daal) 8 oz
  • Onions large 3
  • Meat 1 lb
  • Rice 8 oz
  • Coriander leaves 1 bunch
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Dill leaves 1 bunch

Cooking Directions

  1. Soak the beans for an hour before cooking.

  2. Fry the sliced onions in a little ghee in a large saucepan.

  3. Add the meat, beans, lentils, salt and enough water to cook the lentils.

  4. When the meat is tender, add the rice, salt and enough water for it to cook properly.

  5. Add the chopped dill and coriander leaves, cumin seeds and freshly ground pepper.

  6. Leave to boil till the rice is done, then remove from heat and serve hot.
