Peel and cut the potatoes lengthwise.
Dip in the water and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan.
Fry curry leaves, cumin seeds and chopped garlic.
Add potatoes and the rest of the ingredients with one cup of water.
Cover the pan and cook on low heat till potatoes are tender and thick gravy is obtained.
