  • Arvi ½ kg
  • Whole red chilies 8 (finely chopped)
  • Onion seeds 1 tsp
  • Fenugreek as required
  • Cumin 1 tsp
  • Salt as required
  • Mango dry powder 6-7
  • Carom seeds ½ tsp
  • Mustard oil ½ cup

Cooking Directions

  1. Wash the arvi well, peel and cut lengthwise.

  2. Heat oil in a large skillet.

  3. Add the fenugreek.

  4. After a few minutes add the arvi.

  5. After 5 minutes add Carom seeds, red chilies, onion seeds, salt and cumin seeds.

  6. Cook on low flame.

  7. When the arvi becomes tender add mango dry powder and simmer for a further 5 minutes.

  8. Serve with puris.
