In a mixer bowl cream together sugar and butter with the help of a beater.
Beat in egg and vanilla.
Combine flour, cinnamon, baking powder, lemon zest and salt
Add to butter mixture and mix well.
Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours or until firm.
Shape dough into small balls, about 3-4 inch in diameter.
Roll in cinnamon sugar to coat.
Set cookies, 1 inch apart, on lightly greased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350oF for 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
Let it cool on baking dish for a while.
Then move to racks to cool completely.
Tips: To make cinnamon sugar, stir together 1/4 cup sugar and 1 tsp ground cinnamon.
