Ingredients

  • Dried plums 250 gm
  • Vinegar ½ cup
  • Black pepper powder 1 tsp
  • Small cardamom 2 – 3
  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Salt as required
  • Melon seeds ½ cup

Cooking Directions

  1. Grind together the small cardamoms and melon seeds.

  2. In a bowl of water soak the dried plums for 15 – 20 minutes.

  3. In a pan add 2 cups of water and the soaked plums.

  4. Cook for 15 – 20 minutes.

  5. When the water reduces to half its original quantity removes the plums and deseeds them.

  6. In a bowl mix together the deseeded plums, sugar, salt, black pepper powder and vinegar.

  7. When the sugar is completely dissolved add the ground cardamoms and melon seeds.

  8. Heat the mixture on a low flame for 5 minutes.
