  • Gram lentils (Chana dal) 1/2 cup
  • Split, skinned black lentils (Urad dal) 1/2 cup
  • Yellow lentils (Moong dal) 1/2 cup
  • Red lentils (Masoor dal) 1/2 cup
  • Tomatoes (cut into small pieces) 3
  • Medium onions (chopped finely) 2
  • Ginger 1" piece
  • Green chillies (cut finely) 2
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  • Dry mango powder 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1/2
  • Ghee 2 tbsp

Cooking Directions

  1. Clean the lentils and soak for an hour.

  2. Then pressure cook them.

  3. Take 2 tbsp pure ghee, add cumin seeds, turmeric powder, coriander, chilli powder, ginger and green chillies.

  4. Then add the onions and brown them.

  5. Add tomatoes and cook till ghee separates.

  6. Add the cooked lentils and simmer for 5 minutes.

  7. Serve with rice.
