  • Spinach 150 gm
  • Lotus root (Kamal kakri) 150 gm
  • Red chillies 2
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida a pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil as required

Cooking Directions

  1. Chop spinach and boil, then drain properly.

  2. Wash lotus root properly and cut into fine pieces.

  3. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and put asafoetida and cumin seeds.

  4. Then add the spinach and lotus root.

  5. Add salt and chilli powder.

  6. Stir and brown slightly.

  7. Add a little water and cook till the vegetables are tender and the gravy is thick.
