Hummus is mashed up chick peas with a few extras mixed in. It's a good, healthy snack you can serve with pita chips, pita bread, or crackers. Its very common food for Arabs.

  • White Chick peas in a can with 1/3 of the liquid 1 Can
  • Garlic 1 clove
  • Tahini sauce 2 Tbsp
  • Olive oil 2 Tbsp
  • Lemon Juice 1
  • Pinch of salt , pepper, big pinch of cumin

Cooking Directions

  1. In a blender, put the white chick peas liquid, tahini, olive oil, garlic and seasonings.

  2. Push all the blender's buttons gradually, until all ingredients are blended smoothly.

  3. Add the garbanzos gradually, increasing blender speed until hummus is velvety and smooth.

  4. Stop occasionally and blend the mixture with a spatula before resuming blending, so as to facilitate the process.

  5. Put in a bowl. Smooth the surface with a knife; sprinkle with paprika for color.

  6. Pour a film of olive oil on the surface and put a sprig of parsley in the center
