Ingredients

  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Dill 3 tbsp
  • Garlic cloves 2 (crushed)
  • Lemon juice as required
  • Chicken breast 3 (boneless, chunks)
  • Oregano 1 tsp (dried)
  • Olive oil 2 tbsp
  • Onion 2 (thinly sliced)
  • Pita bread rounds 4 (heated)
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Cooking Directions

  1. Mix yogurt, 2 tbsp dill, garlic and 1 tsp lemon juice.

  2. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.

  3. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil, add chicken with oregano, 1 tbsp dill, salt and pepper.

  4. Sauté until browned and cooked through.

  5. Transfer to a bowl.

  6. Add olive oil to the pan and sauté onions until golden brown.

  7. Add chicken and 1 tsp lemon juice.

  8. Stir until heated through.

  9. Top pita rounds with chicken mixture.

  10. Spoon dill sauce over chicken and serve.

  11. This sandwich is folded in half and eaten.

  12. Pour the extra sauce around.
